Not everyone is born in a family where the spoken language at home is English. For many of us, English is a secondary language where we learned at school or through daily conversations. But believe it when we say it is possible for you to master this language easily like a pro!
To start it off, it is compulsory for you to have English dictionary where it is translated into your mother tongue or in another language which you have already mastered. The best way to learn is by using dictionary. Buy a small pocket sized book and write the meaning of a word that you don’t know. If you can write 3 new words in a day, you will learn 21 new words in a week, 84 new words in a month and 1008 new words in a year, approximately. Don’t you think it is possible to master the language when you know so many new words. To help you to learn, we will be updating one new word on a daily basis to broaden your vocabulary. 🙂
Secondly, you must read everyday in English medium magazines / newspapers / novels / etc. In the beginning, you might feel difficult to understand most of the words you read. But with practice, by diligently referring to dictionary, you would be able to understand what you are reading. Try to read out loud so that you can hear your own voice pronouncing those words, as if you are reading to a group of people. If you are not sure how to pronounce a word, try to ask your family members, friends or teachers. Sometimes you might find your friend or own family try to mock you for learning a new language, just ignore them. You can also google a word and click on speaker sign to listen to how to pronounce a word.
Other than that, you have to find someone with whom you can speak in the language. You might be speaking broken English or grammatically wrong English in the beginning but it is okay. The more mistakes you make, the more you will learn. If you are surrounded by peers who speak English, naturally you will soon become someone who speaks English too.
